This is solid clear acrylic with a stainless steel eye screw at each end.  The photo above showing the hanging Boing and Acrylic piece has an appearance of something through the center of the ceiling protector, that is only a shadow reflecting through the acrylic.  The stainless steel eye screws are screwed in one inch into each end.  This is tough and durable and should last a life time.

I think the Acrylic is far better looking than the PVC Ceiling Protectors that you see around!
Here is an idea using two of the Ceiling Protectors... I hung one at each end of the lighting area above the counter, this prevents the birds from being able to climb up to chew on the wood above.  The Amazons can NOT climb up this 1½" Acrylic.
