ODYSSEY Paulie Rope™  has been used on bird toys successfully in the Dallas area since 1994 with no reported injuries or confirmed deaths related to this product.  In fact, customers prefer bird toys made using Paulie Rope™ and have commented that their birds love to chew on it as much as plastic chain!  The only modifications made to the rope design was in early 2002 to remove the center core and modify the braid to hold a knot better.

Don't be Fooled by Imitations: ODYSSEY Paulie Rope™  is manufactured and tested under very stringent specifications for Odyssey Productions.  During the manufacturing process, the machines that make Paulie Rope™  are stressed to the max while pulling the selected fibers enough to maintain the "tight core" deemed acceptable by veterinarians and bird experts alike to prevent unsafe lengths of fray. Our time-tested polyethylene fibers do not have a "memory" like other rope.  We have discovered that this prevents entrapment and limb strangulation caused by fibers such as nylon or polished cotton rope.

Product Testing: Samples were sent to the University of Arkansas for testing and because the testing process involves burning the material, it melted away and they were unable to breakdown the properties.  But, we were advised by the toxicologist that polyethylene is a nontoxic property in the solid state so it was deemed safe to use in the manufacturing of bird toys.  It was also noted that is an "excellent product" because it is washable and can be disinfected after use.
