My Protector
« on: March 19, 2014, 12:18:55 PM »
A few days ago my friend came over, she takes care of my birds if I have to go away for a few days and Adam, my blue headed Pionus, must have thought because she was there she would take me away because he fluffed up, started laughing and chattering real fast then flew right at her. I put him back on his cage and he took off, flying over my head to get at her head. It was like when a mother bird is defending her nest from an intruder. Luckily she is an experienced bird mom with 15 of her own and he did not phase her at all, she just thought it was cute that he was defending me.

A wonderful example of how loyal and devoted our birds are, and so very touching.
