If your Pionus has either flew off (escaped) or even stolen, please contact me almost immediate because the first 48 hours is most crucial and if is found but not known who the owner is, then the person who has found your bird just might end up looking on my website for info on the Pionus they just found... if they see the info on the page right away then this could help get your bird back to you sooner!!
I am going to briefly talk on about people who have lost their Pionus Parrot due to it flying off by escaping out a door or window. Flighted birds eventually escape. Some birds are kept clipped but unaware of growth, flight feathers fill in and before you know it they are flully flighted and capable of flying about.
I bring this up now but always wanted to mention it but haven't... and many of you keep flighted birds so as you know precaution must always be made aware of because once your Pionus (or any bird) escape you will feel the most sadden and it is a horrible feeling to see your bird soaring in the sky high above you and the ground.
Well anyway, we have had a few on our Forum who have lost their pet Pionus and some get the bird back to safety and back into their homes and some do not ever see their bird again. I've lost two birds before and fortunately they were returned to me and they were not more than two blocks away from my place.
My utmost concern is as long as you know of my website and forum, you should also contact me as well immediately or soon after because my Pionus website is the website that will be searched upon when a person out there finds a Pionus and may or may not know what type of a bird it is and they come to my website seeking info on the bird they found. I've been contacted before from some who have found a pet Pionus. I'll throw together page with your info. This is a FREE service, my utmost concern is to hopefully help recover your Pionus back into your arms!
